Privacy & cookies policy
Last updated 25 October 2026. This policy explains what personal data blackcountrycamping.co.uk collects, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
This website is operated by Centraserve Ltd ("we", "us"), the data controller for personal data collected through it. You can contact us about privacy using our contact form.
What we collect
- Contact form messages. If you contact us, we collect the name, email address and message you provide, so we can reply. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (answering your enquiry). We keep messages for up to 24 months, then delete them.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server records technical information about each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, under legitimate interests, and keep them for up to 90 days.
- Cookies and similar technologies, described below.
We don't sell personal data, and we don't ask you to create an account.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We set no cookies of our own for basic browsing. Third-party services we use may set cookies:
- Google AdSense serves the adverts on this site. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can turn personalised advertising off at Google Ad Settings, and learn more at How Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Google Analytics (if enabled) collects anonymous statistics about how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and for how long.
- Google reCAPTCHA (if enabled on the contact form) helps tell people from bots. It is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms.
Where required, visitors in the UK and EEA are asked for consent before personalised advertising cookies are used. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them, but adverts may be less relevant.
Third-party websites
Campsite listings link to campsites' own websites and to Google Maps. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
Where data is stored
Our website is hosted on servers in the United Kingdom, and traffic passes through Cloudflare's network for security and performance. Google may process advertising and analytics data outside the UK, under safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact form. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
